Quebec Conducts Draw Inviting 1,633 Candidates for Permanent Residency

July 26, 2023

The recent Quebec draw for the Regular Skilled Worker Program invited 1,633 candidates to apply for Permanent Residency.

Quebec held the year’s tenth Regular Skilled Worker Program draw to invite candidates with a minimum score of 596 points and more in the Arrima portal. The RSWP requires candidates to meet the following eligibility criteria:

Minimum French language proficiency of level 7

Valid job offer from a Quebec employer outside Montreal metropolitan area

Getting a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) is the first step to applying for permanent residence in Quebec. Eligible candidates should create a profile in the Arrima portal, similar to the Express Entry platform. The profile comprises details of the candidate’s age, education, work experience, and language skills. Quebec conducts regular invitation rounds to select top-scoring profiles from the Arrima pool to apply for Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).

The Quebec Selection Certificate qualifies the candidate to apply for permanent residence to Canada’s federal immigration authorities. The approval of permanent residency at the federal level includes a thorough background check to determine the candidate’s medical admissibility. It also aims to establish the candidate has no criminal history. Successful candidates receive a PR Visa and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR). The PR visa enables candidates to arrive in Canada and get their Permanent Resident Card.
