Yukon Express Entry Profile

Express Entry candidates with a high scoring profile and a valid job offer for a permanent full-time job can benefit from the Yukon Express Entry stream. Employers in Yukon source skilled worker profiles from the Express Entry pool of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to fill out job positions in critical occupations. The immigrants must have a strong desire to become part of Yukon communities and stay in the province while contributing to the economy and job markets.

Yukon Community Pilot

To fulfill the application criteria of Yukon Community Pilot Provincial Nomination, the applicant can work simultaneously for multiple employers. The exclusive work permit allows the worker to work for one of the communities participating in the program, including Whitehorse, Dawson City, Carcross, Carmacks, and Haines City.

Skilled Worker category

The main eligibility criterion to qualify for Skilled Worker Category is a valid job offer for a position that is part of A, 0, or B categories of the National Occupational Classification. Besides, the following are other eligibility requirements:

  • The candidate has a valid Temporary Work Permit or a student visa
  • Presently living in Canada
  • Will not be claiming a visitor or refugee status
  • Holds a job offer from a Yukon employer to meet nomination requirements
  • Should have the necessary education and proof of experience
  • Meets the language ability criteria

The candidate must apply for a permanent residence status within 3 to 6 months from the first day of employment.

Critical Impact Worker category

The skilled and semi-skilled workers from high-demand occupations relevant to Yukon Territory can consider applying for nomination under the stream. The candidate must have a valid job offer from an employer in Yukon. The candidate need not be living in Yukon while applying for the Yukon PNP. A minimum of 55 points on the grid assessment of the program is essential to qualify for applying under this stream.

Business Nominee category

Candidates with proven experience in operating or managing a business and willing to launch a new business in Yukon should consider this category of Yukon PNP. The business owner must be ready to invest significantly into the new Yukon business.
