Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program

The province of Manitoba has a strategic location, which makes it the entry point to western Canada and Winnipeg as its capital city. Manitoba boasts of rich agriculture, the main driver of its economy. Besides, hydroelectricity, mining, and manufacturing also boost the economy of Manitoba. The Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program attracts most foreign nationals to become part of its diverse culture and economy.

You can look forward to speeding up your immigration to Manitoba by receiving a Manitoba Provincial Nomination certificate. Any established immigration counselor can help you explore several options of immigrating to Manitoba through different streams.

Overview

The following are major immigration streams allowing applicants to immigrate to Manitoba:

  • SWM– Skilled Workers in Manitoba
  • SWO– Skilled Workers Overseas
  • IES- International Education Stream
  • BIS– Business Investor Stream

There are three steps to begin your immigration journey to Manitoba by leveraging Manitoba Provincial Nomination Program (MPNP).

  • The process begins with an Expression of Interest by creating an online profile. The EOI will become part of the Manitoba EOI pool as the candidate receives an individual score according to the profile.
  • Ranking of candidates in the EOI pool is by considering the candidate’s qualification and experience that matches the labor requirements of the province. Deserving candidates receive a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) to proceed with the completion and submission of the application.
  • Nomination of successful applicants

Skilled Workers in Manitoba (SWM)

If you have any connection with Manitoba like work experience, education, language abilities, or employment skills, then the PNP stream of SWM is suitable for you. There are two pathways to immigrate through the Skilled Workers stream in Manitoba.

  • Employer direct recruitment– this pathway is helpful for candidates with an offer of Invitation to Apply under the Manitoba PNP. The interview process by an official from MPNP and the employer should take place outside Canada.
  • Manitoba Work Experience– Temporary workers and foreign graduates may choose the pathway even if the jobs are not part of the eligible occupation list.

Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO)

Eligible Skilled Workers living outside Canada with strong ties with Manitoba through relatives or friends in the province can leverage this stream of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. Following are two crucial pathways under the stream of Skilled Workers Overseas:

  • Manitoba Express Entry– Eligibility for the Manitoba PNP stream and an active Express Entry profile are two requirements to qualify for the Manitoba Express Entry pathway.
  • Human Capital- The Human Capital pathway considers the skilled workers in any occupation from the list of In-demand Occupations in Manitoba.

International Education Stream (IES)

Candidates with a fresh degree from a Manitoban designated secondary education institute can apply through this stream of Manitoba PNP. The applicants need to have work experience during their education, like a part-time job or an internship. A business management background is also suitable to apply through the IES pathway of the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program. One may choose from the three different pathways under the stream:

  • Career employment– The Manitoba Province can nominate international students under this pathway, provided they are looking for a long-term career in Manitoba after completing graduation from a Manitoban post-secondary institute. Graduates should have a Manitoban employer’s valid job offer to qualify for the program.
  • Graduate internship– MITACS is an organization that works in partnership with the Manitoban government to provide the Accelerate and Elevate internship program to Doctoral or Master’s credentials. Successful candidates can choose Graduate Internship Pathway to receive a provincial nomination from Manitoba Government.
  • Student entrepreneur– You may consider the Student Entrepreneur pathway to settle and start a business in the province after graduating from Manitoba institutes. The Student Entrepreneur Pathway can cater only to 20 graduates every year.

Business Investor Stream (BIS)

The province of Manitoba welcomes eligible business investors and entrepreneurs to start a business in Manitoba and boost the economy and employment potential of the province of Manitoba. Individual business investors can purchase or launch a new business. Applicants can also manage or operate a farm in the Manitoban rural areas.
