Manitoba Conducts Latest PNP Draw, Issuing 234 Immigration Invitations

October 20, 2024

Manitoba conducted a new Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) draw on October 10, issuing 234 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to potential immigrants. The invitations were spread across three streams, offering candidates a chance to pursue Canadian permanent residency in Manitoba.

In the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream, 82 LAAs were distributed to candidates who had completed post-secondary education in the province. These individuals needed a minimum score of 845 to be eligible. The International Education Stream (IES) saw the highest invitations, with 114 LAAs issued to graduates from Manitoba institutions.

Additionally, 38 invitations were sent to candidates under the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, targeting those participating in the Strategic Recruitment Initiative, with a minimum score of 711 points. Of the total, 36 candidates had valid Express Entry IDs and job seeker validation codes, highlighting their readiness to settle in Manitoba.

The Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream offers two pathways. One is the Manitoba Work Experience Pathway, which caters to those working in the province on temporary permits or as international graduates, regardless of their occupation’s demand.

The second pathway is the Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway, which allows candidates living overseas to qualify if they have job offers from approved Manitoba employers.

The Skilled Workers Overseas stream is designed for those abroad with skills that Manitoba needs. It has two main options.

The Manitoba Express Entry Pathway targets candidates who meet Express Entry criteria and have ties to the province or experience in high-demand occupations. The Human Capital Pathway focuses on skilled workers abroad who show potential to secure employment in Manitoba once they arrive.

Lastly, the International Education Stream supports Manitoba graduates through three routes, each targeting different qualifications. It provides career opportunities for graduates, including those who have operated businesses or completed internships within the province.

This draw continues Manitoba’s efforts to attract skilled workers and international graduates to contribute to its growing economy.
