Canada Issues 964 ITAs in Latest Provincial Nominee Program Draw

August 3, 2024

Canada conducted a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, issuing 964 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) on July 30, 2024. This draw’s minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score was 686 points, 16 points lower than the previous PNP draw, which took place on July 16, 2024, with a minimum CRS score of 670 points and 1,391 ITAs issued.

On July 18, 2024, a French language proficiency draw was held, issuing 1,800 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 400.

This year, Canada has conducted a variety of draws, including nine all-program draws, six French language proficiency draws, one draw targeting transport jobs, one draw focusing on agriculture and agri-food occupations, two draws for healthcare occupations, one draw for STEM occupations, five PNP draws, two Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws, and one draw for trade occupations.

In comparison, last year, Canada held 19 all-program draws, five PNP draws, six draws for French speakers, three draws targeting healthcare occupations, two draws for STEM occupations, two draws for skilled trades, two draws for transport jobs, two draws for agriculture and agri-food occupations, and one draw for Federal Skilled Worker candidates.

In 2023, Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 110,266 ITAs, a significant increase from the 45,115 candidates invited in 2022.

Canada aimed to achieve a record immigration target of 465,000 for 2023 and plans to surpass this with a target of 485,000 permanent residency invites in 2024.

The latest draw applied the tie-breaking rule on May 27, 2024. If more than one candidate had the minimum CRS score, only those who submitted their Express Entry profiles before this date received invitations.

This was the 28th round of invitations under Express Entry for 2024 and the 306th overall. Candidates now have a 60-day window to submit their applications, which will be processed within the six-month standard timeframe.
