Canada has conducted its latest Express Entry draw, issuing 800 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the French Language Proficiency category on November 15, 2024. The draw required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 478, 34 points higher than the previous French Language Proficiency draw held on October 10. The earlier draw had issued 1,000 ITAs.
This draw followed a Canadian Experience Class draw on November 13, which issued 400 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 547.
In 2024, Canada held 46 Express Entry draws, targeting various categories, including French speakers, healthcare workers, STEM professionals, and trade occupations. Specific draws have also focused on provincial nominees and candidates in the Canadian Experience Class.
The government’s approach highlights its commitment to addressing skill shortages in key sectors and boosting French-speaking immigration outside Quebec.
Comparatively 2023, 110,266 ITAs were issued, reflecting a significant increase from 45,115 invitations in 2022. These numbers showcase Canada’s expanding immigration targets, which are set to grow further, with a record target of 485,000 permanent residency invites in 2024.
Candidates selected in the November 15 draw must submit their applications within 60 days, with processing typically completed within six months.
Prospective candidates are encouraged to secure approved job offers or provincial nominations to improve their chances in future draws. These measures significantly enhance eligibility and CRS scores, boosting the likelihood of receiving an ITA in subsequent rounds.
Canada’s Express Entry system remains a critical pathway for skilled workers worldwide to achieve permanent residency. It aligns with the nation’s ambitious immigration goals for economic growth and workforce development.
