Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held its fourth Express Entry draw on November 18, 2024. The draw invited 174 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates to apply for permanent residence, with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 816.
This draw marks the 325th round of invitations issued under the Express Entry system. The tie-breaking rule was applied to candidates who submitted their profiles on or before August 28, 2024, at 05:12:34 UTC. Candidates receiving Invitations to Apply (ITAs) now have 60 days to submit their complete permanent residence applications.
Express Entry activity has shown irregular patterns this year. While July saw nine draws and over 25,000 invitations, September featured only three. November has been more active, with 2,107 invitations issued so far.
Previous draws this month included a PNP-specific draw on November 12, which invited 733 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 812.
The November 15 draw targeted French language proficiency candidates, issuing 800 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 478. Another draw on November 13 invited 400 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class, with a CRS cut-off of 547.
Overall, 2024 has been a dynamic year for Express Entry. IRCC has issued 92,942 ITAs, reflecting high activity across different program-specific and category-based draws. In October alone, six rounds of invitations resulted in 5,961 ITAs.
The Express Entry system remains Canada’s most popular pathway for immigration, offering permanent residence with a processing time of six to eight months. CRS scores, calculated based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language skills, determine eligibility for receiving ITAs.
While IRCC does not publish the CRS score or number of ITAs in advance, higher scores increase candidates’ chances of selection.
As Express Entry trends suggest continued activity, many expect similar levels of invitations and lowered CRS scores in 2025.
