Those interested in working remotely from Canada can enter the country on a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), depending on their nationality. Visitors must not work for Canadian employers and must comply with local tax and residency rules based on their length of stay.
Digital nomads looking to stay in Canada must present proof of sufficient funds to support their stay, proof of remote employment, and health insurance coverage. Those planning to extend their stay or transition to another visa may need additional documentation, such as bank statements or letters of invitation.
Canada’s appeal as a digital nomad destination is driven by its infrastructure, digital connectivity, and high quality of life. Although there is no dedicated visa program, the flexibility to work remotely for foreign companies while enjoying the Canadian landscape makes it a prime location for digital professionals.
