A Recent Express Entry Draw Invited 1,470 Candidates to Apply for Permanent Residence

February 29, 2024

Canada held a new Express Entry draw, issuing 1,470 invitations to apply for permanent residence on February 28, 2024.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada invited 1,470 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 534 or more in a general draw. The February 28 Express Entry draw was the fifth round of invitations of the year. The higher CRS cut-off shows several candidates qualifying for Express Entry selection through provincial nominations.

Candidates receiving ITAs through an Express Entry draw must submit a complete PR application within sixty days. The application for permanent residence must accompany documentary proofs to support all information in their Express Entry profiles. They should also pay biometric and other processing fees during the process.

Each Express Entry profile continues to be active in the pool for 12 months from its creation. Candidates not receiving an Invitation to Apply in the recent draw should improve their profile to get a higher CRS score for selection in future Express Entry draws.

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) holds periodic Express Entry draws for general or category-based selection. Scoring more CRS points is essential to improve the chances of Express Entry selection.
