Express Entry Draw Invites 733 Candidates Through Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program

November 14, 2024

On November 12, Canada conducted a new Express Entry draw, issuing 733 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency to Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

Applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 812 points to qualify for this draw. This is a 21-point increase from the previous PNP draw on October 21, which issued 648 ITAs.

The most recent Express Entry activity builds on several targeted draws this year. October alone saw two targeted rounds: a PNP draw and a Trade Occupations draw, the latter issuing 1,800 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 433.

Canada’s 2024 draws have included specific rounds for French speakers, healthcare workers, STEM professionals, and agricultural roles, as well as more general draws for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and PNP candidates.

As of this latest round, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued tens of thousands of ITAs, aiming to meet and even exceed the country’s immigration targets.

With a record immigration target of 465,000 permanent residencies for 2023, Canada has set an ambitious target of 485,000 for 2024. Recent annual trends show the scale of this effort: in 2023, IRCC issued 110,266 ITAs, compared to 45,115 in 2022.

Candidates invited to this latest draw have 60 days to submit their applications, typically processed within six months. This 44th round of Express Entry in 2024 is part of Canada’s ongoing efforts to address labor needs across provinces.

Employers are encouraged to consider Labor Market Impact Assessments (LMIAs) or PNP nominations as options for securing skilled workers long-term.
